Today, I am joining this historic march with a delegation from the National Domestic Workers Alliance, because I believe in our strong determination to achieve our common goal of unity and solidarity as women. But I am also joining to show resistance, because President Donald J. Trump is a threat to care workers like me.

I am an immigrant from the Philippines who works as a caregiver, supporting people with disabilities. It’s challenging work that takes patience and understanding, and it can be physically hard. In the past, I have faced low wages for long hours, discrimination, abuse and exploitation. Ninety percent of care workers are women, and many are immigrants, some living undocumented in this country.
